In this episode Garth interviews Christie Cathey from Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. Christie is the coordinator for large sections of introductory psychology and also teaches a 'teaching of psychology' course, and she shares her tips for how to stay fresh continuously teaching the same course. Christie shares her story of overcoming the trailing spouse/dual-career challenge, but it was not easy. She has deep interests in cultural psychology and Eastern philosophies, especially how they can relate to self-compassion. Some of her most valued academic experiences have been taking student abroad, to France and to China.
